Emergencies 

Emergencies occur at the most inopportune times and places. We are a fully equipped hospital to deal with every sort of emergency. If after hours contact one of our local emergency facilities.

 

The following are indications to bring your pet for emergency care:

  • Bloody vomiting or bloody diarrhea
  • Difficulty breathing, open mouth breathing
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Severe bleeding from a wound
  • Hit by a car (even if the animal looks normal)
  • Red, swollen or painful eye(s)
  • Blood from the mouth, nose or coughing blood
  • Seizures lasting greater than 1-2 minutes or recurring seizures within 12 hours
  • Severe trauma including bite wounds, fractures, electrocution and burns
  • Ingestion of known toxins
  • Heat Stroke
  • Inability to urinate for several hours
  • Repeated vomiting (3 or more times in an 8 hour period)
  • Allergic reactions to insect stings, only if they are having repeated vomiting or difficulty breathing
